SIMA will take full control of its Snow Business magazine beginning on January 1, 2017. For the last 6 years, SIMA has published the magazine with the assistance of Grand View Media. The change will allow SIMA to have end to end control of the magazine, ensuring everything, from content to advertising, line up with the best interests of both readers and advertisers.
As Leslie Boomer, publisher of Snow Business magazine, puts it, “SIMA has grown to the point where the board feels it is fiscally and operationally able to assume control of the magazine and chart a new path that will deliver additional value to our members.”
What Changed with Snow Business?
The core team at Snow Business magazine remains mostly the same, so what has changed? Taking the opportunity to re-evaluate how Snow Business magazine lines up with the overall goals of SIMA, the magazine will undergo a redesign beginning with the February 2017 issue with new contributors and additional content that will create additional value for readers.
What is New with Snow Business?
What stays the same? For the reader, the assurance that SIMA will ensure the best, most relevant articles for the success of your business because the success of the industry will stay the cornerstone of the publication. The magazine will stay the leading, industry dedicated publication focusing on the needs of those in the snow and ice management industry. The magazine will still cover best practices as well as keep a focus on developing industry trends. The magazine is “peer reviewed,” in other words, it is snow and ice management experts that ensure the articles are accurate and relevant for reader, not articles driven by private interests.
The editorial advisory board is still made up of a diverse group of experienced and trusted SIMA members and industry stakeholders. The magazine is also BPA-audited, so advertisers can be assured their marketing dollars are put to good use. Since SIMA is a trade association rather than a for-profit company, you can know for sure this magazine will continue to create value for everyone in the snow and ice removal industry; it is in SIMA’s best interest to do so.
SIMA feels the change is good for the association, SIMA members, anyone who receives the mailing, and even advertisers and sponsors. We at Snow Plow News are also looking forward to seeing the changes Snow Business magazine will make as they seek to stay relevant to their readership.
