Review of UTV Plow by Sno-Way Intl.

Mike Stevens of Snow Plow News talks to Jeffrey Hess of Sno-Way Intl. about their UTV Product Line.

Two Years of Great Success

The Sno-Way UTV product line was introduced two years ago and has been a bigger hit than they thought it was going to. Primarily installed on Kubota and John Deere UTV’s the Sno-Way UTV plows work with equipment from seven different manufacturers.

Why Have an UTV Plow?

Most people use the UTV plows for residential driveways or for commercial applications where there is a significant amount of sidewalks or pathways and it is not practical to take a full size truck on those routes.

The small UTV vehicle and the shorter 6 foot blade definitely are a great combination in small and hard to access areas.

What is Special About Sno-Way’s UTV Plow?

The UTV plow comes with a standard 6 foot blade and the universal controller for the plow also works the UTV salt spreaders that Sno-Way has available. This plow is fully hydraulic, the vertical lift is hydraulic, but so is the right and left movement, eliminating time to adjust the blade back and forth while plowing.

What about the electric draw with all the hydraulics? Sno-Way matched the amp draw to the vehicle, not only ensuring the vehicle does not get drained, but also allowing for the fastest lift and the best stacking available on their UTV plows.

Some of the features we noticed on the Sno-Way unit is that it has an actual trip edge system most contractors are familiar with. The trip system is not available on some UTV plows yet it protects the UTV and the driver. If you hit an object under the snow at a fast enough speed, the driver can literally be thrown from the vehicle, so we are big fans of trip systems on every plow.

Sno-Way has also worked to keep the maximum ground clearance it can on the UTV when the mounting system is installed. They designed their mount system to be easy to hook-up, so it is a snap to put on and take off the blade. You are not stuck with leaving the plow on from October through May, you can have the plow on only when you need it on.

A great little plow for your mighty little UTV.
