Snow Plow News talks with the Product Manager for Silverado Medium Duty Trucks about their new 2022 snow plow package. The new snow plow package does a few new things that will make snow jobs more effiecent and easy for contractors.

The new snow plow package does a few new things like forcing on some headlamps and turn signal wiring for plow lights.

The new package forces on a 220 amp alternator with the option to add a second alternator, and forces on a switch in the headliner for a flashing beacon light on the roof.

The new Chevy frame has 3 holes punched on each side for the mega bracket to hold the plow, providing a much easier installation.

The axle rating can be determined by the customer, but is recommended to be a rating of 7,500 or 8,000 pounds. Customers are also encouraged to do a little math to determine the weight distribution on the chassis to offset the front and rear axle weight. The standard rear axle is open and Chevy suggest a minimum or limited slip rear axle or the four-wheel drive option to provide more traction in heavier snow situations.
