What’s New on the Buyers Mini Municipal Dump Spreader?

Learn about the new Medium Duty Municipal Dump Spreader (MDS) Combination Dump Spreader from SnowDogg by Buyers as Will the Welder spotlights this product at the 2020 NTEA Work Truck Show. This all-in-one spreader and dump body combo unit was introduced as a prototype last year, and now it’s the real thing available to add to your smaller trucks (Class 4-7 trucks).

You can get this Medium Duty MDS in an electric or hydraulic system. That’s right – this is is the first combo body in its class to offer a fully electric drive option! No central hydraulics system is required, but you can get it with a hydraulic drive instead if you prefer. This spreader combines your VBox spreader with your miniature dump by so it’s great for smaller municipalities going with smaller trucks.

This MDS had some great design improvements that make it fast and easy to convert it from a normal dump truck to a spreader (and back). It has a single handle quick release for lowering the back tailgate, and the spinner assembly is now hard-mounted to the back so it stays in place at a consistent height at all times. Removing just two pins off the spinner makes it fast to take off to go back into dump truck mode. Then you just slide in the included floor cover to cover the conveyor and you’re good to go year-round!

The SnowDogg Medium Duty MDS Combination Dump Spreader has 10 gauge 304 stainless steel construction with one piece roll-formed sides that provide a capacity of around 3-4 cubic yards. The tailgate is controlled either from inside the cab with an electric release or with one handle on the tailgate itself. The high-speed conveyor can be used to spread salt, sand, or a mix of the two. All this and the cost point on this MDS is much lower than comparable products.

The New SnowDogg “SuperJ” Municipal Snow Plow is Super Awesome!

Will the Welder talks with Frank Dickerson from Buyers Products to discuss the features of the new SnowDogg SuperJ snow plow. This big kahuna gets it’s name from its “J” curl blade shape instead of the standard “C” curl on most plows. This design helps keep the snow down for better visibility even at higher speeds, making it an ideal plow for both interstate highways and city streets. It’s available in 10, 11, and 12-foot lengths with the option of having a moldboard in carbon steel, stainless steel, or polycarbonate.

The SnowDogg SuperJ is not only designed for high speeds, but it’s also built to take big hits and not break. It has a trip edge with the bottom section made of stainless steel, unlike most plows. The outboard cylinder design allows the framework of the plow to stay much closer to the truck to improve the turning radius and reduce strain on the truck’s front axle. The SuperJ has a 47-1/2″ tall moldboard that pivots 35 degrees from the bulldoze position to provide outstanding control over where the snow is pushed. It also has the ability to switch the plowing direction from left to right on-the-fly for ultimate maneuverability and flexibility to different conditions.

Western Pile Driver Box Plow Features

Hurricane I Moves out & Heat Moves Back in!

Now that Hurricane Isaias has left a decent mess for Eastern states to clean up (see lots of video footage below), it’s time to look ahead to see what’s next! The weather starts off with a bit of a split personality this week as it is cooler and wet on the eastern half of the U.S. and the West remains hot and dry. Then the cool weather moves out and we’re more balanced with warmer temps just about everywhere.

8/5/2020 Weather Forecast Video from Neoweather

The action started off this week with some follow up super soakers in the East on the tail of the Hurricane. As those move-out, a little system kicks up in the Kansas City area with almost the only red we see on the map this week. There will be a spot of severe weather on the front range that weakens quickly before getting too far. The typical afternoon thunderstorms will cover most of Florida this week too.

Over the weekend and into next week more typical rainfall pops up around the country. We expect to see showers around the Great Lakes and Midwest Region. Nothing severe is expected and it will be pretty scattered, but rain is coming. The deep South should be getting hit and miss precipitation as well. No major storms are in the forecast.

Weather Map for 8/10/2020 Shows Spotty Rain
Weather Map for 8/10/2020 Shows Spotty Rain

Out West there is almost no precipitation expected, which isn’t uncommon for this time of the year. Things are expected to remain hot and dry as usual. Kind of nice for SOMETHING to go as expected in 2020, right?
